The area was eerily quiet. Streetlights flickered out one by one, and only moonlight illuminated the town.
The night bell rang.
In the moonlight's light, there was an old cathedral.
There stood a young man, shedding black tears beside a woman.

The black-haired young man was crying.
Rei touched the wound, and it slowly began to heal.

It really can heal.
Hey,
Don't those black tears hurt?

I didn't expect anyone to speak to me.
I hadn't even considered that someone might be watching.
...Who are you?

I'm Leo.
Oh, I haven't introduced myself yet, have I?
I'm Leo Doymark.
...
And you?
...Abel

Abel. That's a nice name.
Ah!
He disappeared the moment I looked away...
Wait, Captain!
Wait
The Black Tear—

Well, don't be too wary.
I'm an exorcist, you know.
I've been going around to places where I sensed the presence of demons.
I never imagined I'd meet a legendary saint.
You're—

The "Black Tear Saint," right?
...Was I wrong?
......

It's been a long time since anyone's shown interest in me.
......
There are people who call me the "Black Tear Saint."
But I'm not worthy of being called a saint.
I can survive without food or sleep, and I live while shedding black tears.
I'm no longer...
Doesn't this straightforward young man in front of me feel any fear towards me...?
...and anxiety overwhelmed me.

...Some people call me the "Saint of Black Tears."
I knew it. Just like the legend says!
Keep this encounter a secret.
...?
Captain... surely not.

I want to be friends with Abel.

I could never believe there was anyone who would say they wanted to be friends.
I mean, it must be hard to cry all alone all the time, right?
What kind of hardships have you been through?
...

We can't be friends...
I see. It must be difficult to say that so suddenly.
Well, then, let's get to know each other little by little?

I wondered what this man was talking about.
You want to spend time with me, this monstrous mess?
Were you serious when you said you wanted to be friends earlier?
I refuse.
...
Abel said that and left the cathedral.

Oh well.
Captain! What are you talking about!?
It's the Saint of Black Tears!
...

We'll take the woman to the facility.
Captain, defeat the next demon.
Lambert, Beldit, I'm counting on you to look after the woman.
Right.
Burn, you'll be with me.
We'll meet again.
I had a feeling.
