On a secluded hill, there was a small hut.
Every day, the old man would look out at the town from there.
Hello.

Oh, oh. You've come back. So, how did it go?
We were able to rescue the woman.
However, for reasons I won't go into, we couldn't bring her here.
Other people came to help, so I think she'll be back soon.
What?!

Knowing you, I'm sure you wouldn't tell anyone bad...
That girl is from this town. I was worried about her.
No, no, there's no need to apologize.
I'm sorry.
It's my fault for asking a traveler to help rescue my daughter who had been kidnapped by a demon.

This man isn't looking at me.
Well, he probably can't see me.

The people I met all introduced themselves as exorcists.
They must be members of the ancient Exorcist Association in this country.
Even so, I—
abandoned the job I was given.

I don't blame you. On the contrary, I'm grateful.
A stranger, a traveler whose identity I don't even know, has been so kind in helping the townspeople.
No, no, the pleasure is all mine. I'm grateful for being allowed to stay in your cabin for a while.

By the way, you...
You're quite serious.
Are you planning to stay here any longer?
There's been a strange rumor going around town lately.
That there's a monster that sheds black tears.

That being, so otherworldly, might attack the town someday—that's what they say.
He's only shown himself in town a handful of times.
He's even helped people before, but I never thought rumors would spread.
If the townspeople are afraid—I must leave.

That's frightening. I'll be careful not to encounter him.
These tears might heal his eyes.
But—I don't want to scare him.
My job for now is finished. I'm going on another journey.
Is that so? That's a shame. I thought I finally had someone to talk to.

The townspeople have been very kind to you, haven't they?
Yes.
But I want to talk to all sorts of people.
Well, I'll come back when things have settled down.

Old man Silow, take care.
Well then, take care.
