The Child Beneath the Pool Cover is a live-action drama about Marcus, who hears cries for help from beneath an enclosed pool cover. He is blocked by the boy's father and grandmother, who take him for a trespasser, until he rescues their missing son.
It is a mistaken-identity story built around a race against time, where the one person trying to help is treated as the problem.
In the first episode Marcus hears a child under the pool cover and tells him to hang on. The man in charge of the equipment refuses to open it. He is on a job he cannot afford to lose, and he is sure the stranger is trying to damage the equipment. In the next episodes Marcus warns that the child is running out of air, and begs him to open the cover with the controller.
Nobody believes him. The man decides someone is trying to take his job, and the family insists there is no child, while the manager is on his way. Marcus keeps pushing anyway, asking whether the boy has a smart watch they can call, until a small hand finally comes out from under the cover.
